Girls
The Lady Wildcats had a tough go in the final week as they also fell to Bethany 9-0 on the road.
In the Cache contest, head coach Nathan Fitch felt it was one of the team’s best efforts of the season in spite of the loss.
Cache scored off a deflected corner kick 15 minutes into the match and despite a pair of nice chances from Arlette Andrade and Itzel Trevino the Lady Wildcats trailed 1-0 at halftime.
Thevisitorsgotbehindthe Madill defense a few times for goals after intermission, but the Lady Wildcats hung tough to score on a penalty kick from Trevino with six minutes left.
“The girls never stopped fighting, whichmademevery proud,” Fitch commented. “They put together several good moves with several having good chances but were unable to convert.
“We just haven’t quite made it all click yet, but I have a team full of very talented underclassmen that are only going to get better. We saw a lot of improvement this year and the girls are committed and ready to put in the work in the offseason to be successful.”
