Kingston’s girls track team took top two honors in every relay en route to a second place team finish while the Redskins ended third in the team standings at the prestigious Madill Invitational Track Meet last week.
The Lady Redskins managed high point totals in all four relay events, including winning the 1600 meters where Kate Ratzlaff, Coby Davis, Kenley Hallum and Ava Russell took gold in a time of 4:14.62.
Russell notched a personal best mark of 26.71 seconds as the senior claimed top honors in the 200 meters. Ratzlaff, a freshman, added a winning mark of 47.59 seconds in the 300 hurdles for a personal best while also chipping in a runner-up time of 17.04 in finishing second in the 100 hurdles.
Sophomore Alyssa Langford notched a title jump of 10 feet even in winning the pole vault with teammate Taylor Backenstoescheckinginsixth at 6 feet, 6 inches.
Davis took fourth in the long jump at 15 feet, 2 inches while the Lady Redskins had a host of fifth place showings including Olivia McAlister, 1:04.46 in the 400 meters; Avery Ludrick, 2:41.43 in the 800 meters; and Daisy Avery in both the 1600 and 3200 meters with personal best marks of 5:58.96 and 12:44.75 respectively.
The foursome of Langford, Ratzlaff, Davis and Russell was second in the 400 relay at 52.09 seconds with Hallum teaming with Davis, Addie Cole and Russell to check in second in the 800 relay in 1:50.37 as well as the group of Avery, Cole, Ludrick and Hallumwhichwasrunner-up in the 3200 relay at 10:51.75.
