Kingston powerlifters win Regional, Madill 4th

Kingston boys captured the Class 2A Southeast Region powerlifting championship while the Madill Wildcats finished fourth in the Class 4A division of the event held last week at Hartshorne.

The Redskins won the tiebreaker to edge Morris for the regional crown with 68 total points.

State meets for both schools will be held Friday (4A) and Saturday (2A) at El Reno.

LeadingthewayforKingston were a trio of placers in the 123-pound division as Jack Martin took third with a three-lift total of 845 pounds, including 320 in squat, 185 on bench and 340 in the deadlift. Hayden Gravitt was fifth with a combined 780 pounds (300 squat, 180 bench, 300 deadlift) while CooperEnglandendedeighth with 680 pounds (245 squat, 135 bench, 300 deadlift).

Blake Wise ended fourth at 157 pounds with 970 pounds in total (360 squat, 205 bench, 405 deadlift) while Kooper Walker was also fourth in the 275-pound category at 1,335 pounds (515 squat, 300 bench, 520 deadlift).

In the 132-pound division, Kruz Harjo tallied 780 total pounds (275 squat, 200 bench, 305 deadlift) to place fifth while Jamie Lewis was fifth on bench (230 pounds) to claim fifth as well.

Madill was led by Chris Ramirez in the 157-pound division as he took the regional title with a three-lift combination of 1,130 pounds, which included 455 on squat, 260 on bench and 415 in the deadlift. Teammate Angel Ibarra was just behind him in third with a total of 1,090 pound (415 squat, 225 bench, 450 deadlift).

ChristianRobledochecked in fourth at 168 pounds with an even 1,000 for his three lifts (345 squat, 230 bench, 425 deadlift) while Ben Hamilton claimed sixth in the 132-pound division at 770 pounds (265 squat, 185 bench, 320 deadlift).

The Wildcats also had an eighth place finish by Aroddy Camacho at 145 as he tallied 860 pounds (320 squat, 175 bench, 365 deadlift), Kris Grimaldo posted a ninth place mark at 220 pounds with a combination of 1,165 (445 squat, 225 bench, 495 deadlift)andLandonBurgess ended 10th in the heavyweight division lifting a total of 1,160 pounds (485 squat, 225 bench, 450 deadlift).
