Both the Madill girls and boys powerlifting teams competed well in the Dibble Invitational last week with the Lady Wildcats tying for fourth in the final team standings while the Wildcats took sixth in the powerpacked field of teams.
Individual titleist on the girls’ side was Hannah Rios, whoclaimedtophonorsinthe 181-pound weight division with a three-lift combination of 780 pounds. She notched 300 on squat, 165 in bench and 315 on deadlift.
Dahlia Marris checked in third at 150 pounds with a total of 650 in her lifts, which included 240 on squat, 115 in bench and 295 on deadlift.
Madillhadapairofplacers in the 108 division, topped by Brooklin Washington in fourth with a 440 total (145 squat, 80 bench, 215 deadlift) along with Allie Barthel ending seventhat405(125squat, 70 bench, 210 deadlift).
There were also two Lady Wildcats at heavyweight as Angie Mendiola led the charge with a fourth place tally of 690 pounds (245 squat, 135 bench, 310 deadlift) as Jenna Marquez checked in sixth with 640 (225 squat, 125 bench, 290 deadlift).
Anali Aldava pitched in a ninth place mark in the 198 division of 580 total pounds (225 squat, 95 bench, 260 deadlift) while Emma Edwards wrappedup10thinthe 121 category at a combined 445 pounds (175 squat, 85 bench, 185 deadlift).
The Wildcats also had a boys’ weight class champion at 157 pounds where Chris Ramirez posted an outstanding mark of 1,135 pounds which was a combination of a 455 squat, 275 bench and 405 deadlift. Teammate Angel Ibarra was just behind in third place as he totaled 1,095 pounds (415 squat, 235 bench, 445 deadlift).
Madill had a pair of placers in the 220-pound division spurred by Kris Grimaldo in fifth with a combined 1,125 pounds (405 squat, 245 bench, 475 deadlift) as well as Deuce Glenn checking in sixth at 1,075 pounds (375 squat, 275 bench, 425 deadlift).
A pair of Wildcats also showedwellinthe145-pound category with Braden Green leading the way in fifth place at 805 total pounds (275 squat, 195 bench, 335 deadlift) as well as Aroddy Camacho ending eight with 775 pounds (285 squat, 175 bench, 315 deadlift).
Ben Hamilton was a seventh place individual finisher at 132 pounds as he tallied a 760 total (270 squat, 185 bench, 305 deadlift). Landon Burgess rounded out the Wildcat placers by claiming ninth in heavyweight by posting an 1,100 pounds combination (445 squat, 225 bench, 430 deadlift).
