Addyson Miller

Addyson Rilee Miller is a senior at Madill High School. She said she feels immense gratitude for the supportive community that has shaped her experience. With parents AmyandRonniebothserving as educators in the district even before Miller was born, theconnectiontothiscommunity has been a lifelong one. She said she was also inspired by her loving sister, Reagan,andcherishedfamily members, including grandmother Margie Corley, late grandfather Gerald Corley, grandfather Ronnie Miller and late grandfather Tommy Isenberg.

Throughout her high school years, Miller has engaged in a variety of activities that have enriched her experience. As co-captain of thecheersquadandacaptain on the speech team, she has developed strong leadership skills while pursuing her passion for vocal music. Miller has also participated in student council, thrown shot put and discus for the track team, joined the fishing club and been a member of the academic team.

Looking forward, Miller said she plans to pursue a college degree in biomedical engineering or mechanical engineering, with a focus on prosthetics.

One of Miller’s favorite memories from high school came during the Bridge Creektrackmeetinhersophomore year. Battling through awful weather and personal struggles, she achieved a remarkable finalthrowthatnot only surpassed a significant milestone but also broke her personal best by over a foot. Another cherished memory occurred during her freshman year, when she cheered at a football game and the entire stadium lights went out. Cheering in the dark, surrounded by the electric energy of the crowd, created an unforgettable experience that highlighted the joy of being partofsomethinggreater. In expressing gratitude, Miller acknowledged her family and coaches. She said sheappreciatestheunwavering support,whetherthrough encouraging words, allowing practice time on weekends, or simply being a reliable presence.

Toherparents,Millermay not voice it often, but she said she is incredibly thankful for the sacrifices made throughout her life.

Reagan, Miller’s sister, has been a constant source of inspiration. Her ambition and accomplishments motivate Miller to strive for her own goals and emulate her success.

Additionally, Miller expressed appreciation for her teammates, who uplift her daily.Shesaidtheknowledge that she has a supportive group to rely on makes it easier to push through challenging practices and seek improvement, even when faced with tough coaching.

As Miller prepares to embark on the next chapter of her life, she urged fellow students to cherish every moment. Embracing challenges and finding positives in any situation is essential; these experiences will be missed when they are gone. Miller encouraged everyone to enjoy this carefree time and to take as many naps as possible.
