The Federal Emergency Management Agency, also known as FEMA, is a government organization that assissts victims of natural disasters. Typically, FEMA helps people in areas that were hit by natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes.
Even though FEMA rides in to a disaster area like the calvary, they also try to help people prepare for disasters. This helps the victim not feel the impact as much.
FEMA is a serious organization, but every now and then, something hilarious happens. On September 15, the Dallas Cowboys played the New Orleans Saints, and the Cowboys lost to the Saints - by quite a bit, 44-19.
As if the score of 44-19 wasn’t disastrous enough, FEMA sent out a press release claiming the State of Texas as a disaster area. The email from FEMA with the headline reading, “President Daniel Largues Declares Major Disaster After Saints Beat Cowboys in Dallas.”
Apparently, the declaration was a training assignment gone awry. After the initial declaration email, FEMA immediately sent out an apology email.
“Today, the FEMA Press Office inadvertently sent an email to be used for training purposes only,” the release said. “We apologize for any inconvenience. Please direct any questions to the FEMA Press Office.”
