Hubert Earl Campbell, 89, formerly of Madill, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024, in Durant. Earl, the son of Thomas and Opal (Zelda) Campbell, was born on Halloween, October 31, 1934, in Hobart. Earl proudly served in the US Army. After leaving the army, he attended East Central University in Ada, Okla., where he completed his master’s degree. On July 13, 1957, he married Carolyn Case, in Seminole. Earl briefly taught school at Strother’s High School, before starting his 27-year career teaching Industrial Arts at Seminole High School.
He enjoyed fishing, applying his craft with building projects and woodworking, and he enjoyed going on walks with the dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn; and a son, James.
Earl is survived by his son, Tommy Campbell, of Madill; grandchildren,JasonCampbell,TiffanyCampbell,Tommy Campbell, Cherie Campbell, Chase Campbell, Dillon Campbell and Brooke Hickman; ten great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren, and one on the way; along with many other family members and friends.
A graveside service was held Friday, July 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, with Tim Crow officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
