The OSSAA 3A/4A Track State Championship meet was held May 3 through May 4. Both Madill and Kingston High Schools competed in the meet. Madill was in the 4A divisionandjuniorEliVinson took1stplaceinthepolevault event with a 13-06.00 mark.
Vinson taking 1st place was not only a victory for the team, it was also a personal victory for the athlete. Vinson placed 3rd his freshman year andrunneruphissophomore year, making this 1st place win even sweeter.
The other Madill athletes whoplacedinthe4Acategory are as follows: boys’ relay team, 12th in the 4x400; 5thin the 4x800; Triston Barnes, 6th in pole vault and Tyce Pruitt, 10th in discus. In the girls’ division, Codie Shaw took 15th in the 100-meter hurdles.
KHS competed in the 3A division. Alyssa Langford placed 1st in the pole vault event with an 11.00 mark. Other athletes who placed were Cassidy Walker who took 14th in the high jump; Coby Davis with 9th in pole vault and the relay team took 10th in the 4x100 prelims, 14th in the 4x400 and 11th the 4x800.
