Veteran's Day program

As Veterans Day approaches, communities across the nation prepare to pay tribute to the courageous individuals who have served in the nation's armed forces. This year, American Legion Post 99 invites everyone to join them for their Annual Veterans Day Event in a heartfelt celebration of those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms.

The event will be November 11 at 11:00 a.m. It will be held at the Marshall County Courthouse Themed 'Thank You, Veteran,' this year's event encapsulates the gratitude the Legion Post feels for those who have served with honor, heart and grace. From the battlefields to their hometowns, their bravery and sacrifices have shaped the very freedoms everyone enjoys today.

Theprogramwillincludea series of moving tributes and performances. The event will commence with an opening prayer led by Lyndel Adams, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance presented by Bruce Page. Attendees will be treated to musical performances by the Madill Jazz Band and Choir, featuring stirring renditions of 'God Bless America,' an Armed Forces Medley, and 'America The Beautiful.'

A highlight of the event will be the keynote address delivered by Charles McCall, a distinguished leader and current gubernatorial candidate. As the 48th Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, McCall has demonstrated unwavering commitment to veterans’ issues, advocating for legislation that supports those who have served. His dedication to service, family and country resonates deeply and he is eager to share his vision with attendees.

The solemnity of the day will be marked by the playing of 'TAPS,' a traditional tribute to honor the memory of those who have fallen.
