TFD: Dangerous spring winds

It's Spring and the time of year to register your storm shelter. You can call MarshallCountyEmergency Management at 580-2639117.

This is important in the event of a tornado and your shelter is covered with debris. They know exactly were to look for you.

Please be aware because burning conditions are still very dry and often this time of year, we get gusty tricky winds.

At our March meeting we hadKordaleLornesfromRed River Electric (REA). He was very helpful and provided valuable information on REA services, updates and resources.

Please remember this Saturday, March 28 is our first fundraiser for the year, the Spring Cookie and Craft Market. It will be fun for everyone and all us Auxiliary membersarebakingallkinds of cookies and goodies to sale.

We will also be selling hot dogs, nachos and fire blankets. We will have vendors selling new and gently used items. Please come out and support your Volunteer Fire Department Ladies our next meeting is April 20 at 1:30 p.m. with fellowship at 1 p.m. prior to the meeting.

The exercise/stretching classes are every Monday andWednesdayat10:00a.m. Card games are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 12:00 p.m.

For anyone needing to rent the Texoma Community Center building for a party or family gathering place contact Judy Jeffreys at 405-684-1636. Calls are monitored twice a week so please allow plenty of time for your event.

The cost is $75 per day and can only be rented by members of the Fire District. The building capacity is 158.
