This past weekend was one of the deadliest weekends in quite some time. Seven people were killed in several incidents across Texoma.
Paul Snyder, 64 of Mead, was killed after being hit by a car on US 70 near Mead. Officers said he was killed on impact.
Donna J. Beaver, 55 of Davis, was killed US 77 when she departed the roadway and struck a tree. She, along with a young boy that was a passenger, both died in the wreck.
Phyllis Eggenberg, 24 of Durant, was killed when a car she was a passenger in rolled down an embankment on US 70.
Billy Cooper, 40 of Durant, was found dead on the shore of a lake after a night of fishing. Earlier, he had left in his kayak to go fishing. It is unclear what led to his drowning.
Michele Watson, 59 of OKC, also drowned. Witnesses say she jumped in the water to swim, but never resurfaced.
Two people were struck by lightning while they were on Lake Texoma. One refused treatment. However, Vanessa Zimmerer, a 32-year-old Cook County nurse died from her injuries.
