Tannehill’s shows rock

Tannehill’s Tavern and Music Hall was the place to be last week. Located in the Ft. Worth Stockyards, Tannehill’s typically has country music artists at the venue, especially the week of the PBR Rodeo.

Even though May 15 through May 20 was the week for the PBR World Finals-Unleash the Beast, that doesn’t mean that the Stockyards only had country musicians to perform for the masses. Guests of the rodeo saw country artists such as Easton Corbin and Red Shahan. However, they were also able to see two entirely different music styles, Texas Hippie Coalition and Warrant.

Texas Hippie Coalition performed Friday, May 19. The band may be currently traveling the world. However, they are a few small-town guys. Originally from Denison, Texas, the band consists of Big Dad Ritch, Cord Pool, Nevada Romo, Laredo Romo and Joey Mandigo.

They started to become a household name in2012 with their first single, “Turn it up.”TexomaHippieCoalition has been steady climbing the charts with their fast-paced, rocking tunes.

Warrant riled the crowd up on Saturday, May 20. They have been on the scene just a little while longer than Texas Hippie Coalition. They got their start in Hollywood, Calif. In 1984. Their first single success was with their song “Heaven,” and the band hasn’t looked back since.

With almost all original members, Warrant played beloved hits like “Down Boys,”“BigTalk,”and“Sometimes SheCries.”Theoriginal members are Erik Turner, Jerry Dixon, Joey Allen and Stephen Sweet. The original singer, split from the band to work on his solo career in 2003.Sadly,theoriginalband would never reunite because Jani Lane passed away on August 11, 2011.

Warrant is currently on a US tour. They will land in Pryor, Okla. for the Rocklahoma, the annual rock fest of Oklahoma. Rocklahoma runs September 1 through September 3. However, Warrant will be part of the kick-off party on Thursday, August 31.
