Student questioned over alleged threat

On September 18, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Kingston High School for a report of a student making a threatening comment towards a Kingston Public School Educator. MC Sherriff Donald Yow said in a press release that the Marshall County School Resource Deputy and a Kingston Police Officer was “quick to respond.”

Fortunately, the juvenile in question was not on school premises and nobody was in any immediate danger. As of September 18, the juvenile was in the “presence of law enforcement and appropriate actions will be taken by the Kingston Public Schools and Law Enforcement.”

Yow said that KPS and the MCSO are both committed to protecting the school, students and staff. Due to their quick actions, the juvenile didn’t make it to the school. The incident is still under investigation.
