Six inmates facing more charges

Six inmates who are either serving time for prior convictions or awaiting trial for a current charge have all added more charges to their rap sheets. Apparently, the six inmates, identified as Shawn French, Chad Polster, Timothy Stanfield, George Short, Tony Townsend and Christopher Richards like the view from the inside of the Marshall County Jail.

According to jail officials, in mid-December, it was alleged that the six inmates jumped another inmate, beat him up and stole his commissary items. Commissary items are when an inmate’s family sends the inmate money to buy things that the jail does not provide automatically. It typically comes from a store-like area in the jail and only is distributed a few times a week.

On December 17, the Marshall County District Attorney filed Conjoint Robbery charges on all six inmates.

French, a 33-year-old male from Kingston was serving six months stemming from a Domestic Abuse/Assault and Battery conviction. He was found guilty of Violating the Protection Order. No other Oklahoma priors were found in an online search.

Polster, a 40-year-old male from Madill was awaiting trial for a Possession of a Firearm After the Former Conviction of a Felony. An online search found Oklahoma priors for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Concealing Stolen Property, Attempting to Elude an Executive Officer, Domestic Abuse/Assault and Battery, Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Stanfield, a 20-year-old from Kingston was serving 90 days for an Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card conviction. No other Oklahoma priors were found in an online search.

Short, a 31-year-old male from Oklahoma City was in jail awaiting a Probation Revocation hearing for First-Degree Burglary and Second-Degree Burglary convictions. An online search found other priors for Domestic Abuse by Strangulation and another Second-Degree Burglary.

Townsend, a 37-year-old male from Madill was in the jail waiting on a trial for Aiding in Delinquency, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His Oklahoma priors show online as Child Abuse by Injury, Possession of CDS with the Intent to Distribute, Unauthorized Use of a Police Radio, Domestic Abuse/Assault and Battery, Domestic Abuse, and Larceny of Lost Property.

Richards, a 28-year-old male from Madill was in jail awaiting his trial for a Second-Degree Burglary charge. An online search found Oklahoma priors for Possession of CDS, Possession of CDS – Methamphetamines, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DUI, and Concealing Stolen Property. He is also facing charges for Possession of CDS and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

According to Okla. Stat. tit. 21 § 800, each inmate could face anywhere between five to 50 years if convicted.
