A previous report regarding the proposed Rock Creek entertainment district and arena incorrectly suggested the development could be located in Kingston, Oklahoma. That information was inaccurate. The Rock Creek project, a $1.2 billion entertainment district anchored by a planned 8,000-seat arena, is slated for development in Norman, not Kingston. The clarification comes after confusion arose due to the existence of Rock Creek Marina near Kingston, which led to some mix ups and that the large-scale development would be tied to that area. The proposed Rock Creek entertainment district in Norman has recently moved forwardfollowingafavorable ruling from the Oklahoma Supreme Court that cleared legal challenges surrounding the project’s financing structure. The development is expected to include retail, dining, and mixed-use components in addition to the arena, positioning it as a major regional destination in central Oklahoma. Kingston, while home to the Rock Creek Marina along Lake Texoma, is not connected to the entertainment district project. Local officials in Marshall County have not announced any comparable development tied to the Rock Creek name. We regret the error and any confusion it may have caused readers in Kingston and across Marshall County.
