OK Reprensentative steps down to fill commissioner seat

An Oklahoma legislator stepped down to fill an empty seat as a County Commissioner. Jason Lowe, born on February 20, 1974, is a distinguished American attorney and politician who has dedicated his career to public service and justice.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia State University and a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law. In 2009, Lowe foundedTheLoweLawFirm, with offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, focusing on criminal defense law.

In 2016, Lowe was elected to represent the 97th district in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. During his tenure. He served in the 56ththrough59thOklahoma Legislatures and held the position of Minority Caucus SecretaryfromJanuary2019 to January 2023.

In December 2024, Lowe filed to run for the district 1 seat on the Oklahoma County Board of Commissioners, following the resignation of Commissioner Carrie Blumert. He won the Democratic primary in February 2025 and secured the position in the April general election with over 85% of the vote.
