Marshall County GOP set to host sheriff candiates

The Marshall County Republican Party will host its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at La Grande Restaruant in Madill. The group meets at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month.

Marshall County Republican Party Chair David G. Barnes, said the two Repulican candidates for Marshall County Sheriff, Danny Cryer and Donald Yow, will be in attendance.

He added that the meeting is open to voters that are registered Repubulicans.

Cryer was elected sheriff in November 2016. Yow has been the Chief of Police for the Madill Police Department since June 2018. No other candidates filed for

No other candidates filed for the position of county sheriff, said LaRue Wilhite, Marshall County Election Board secretary. As a result, the two candidates will meet in a June 30 Primary Election.
