The Madill Public Works Authority held its monthly meeting inside the Fred Stanley Center, Library Room Dec. 10.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Travis Williams.

Other members present were Bobby Davis and Mary Ann Hale.

Two members were not present: Terry Rushing and Shaunda Stanley.

With a quorum present, Williams continued with meeting.

The group then approved the Consent Agenda which included:

Minutes of November 12, 2019

November General Fund Purchase Orders

Then, Hale made a motion to approve Resolution #707 for Madill Public Works Authority Budget Amendment #6 FY 2018-2019. Williams seconded the motion and it passed by a margin of 3-0.

The next item was a presentation of an Oklahoma State Department of Health Water

Fluoridation Quality Award to city worker Ray Gamble. However, Gamble was unable to attend and his award was accepted by fellow employee, Charlie White. The award was presented by Williams.

City Manager James Fullingim presented a brief financial report. A highlight of the report was a note that total city water bills for November 2019 were $129,919.22.

Fullingim then used his time for the city manager’s report to discuss his focus on the city’s infrastructure.

One project will be possible major upgrades to the City of Madill’s water treatment.

“I want to get us prepared for tomorrow,” he said.

Fullingim asked White to share a little more about an upcoming sanitary survey of the city’s water treatment plant by DEQ.

White explained that the review will happen either in January or February 2020.

“They’ll go over the place with a fine-toothed comb,” he said.

White said that one of the city’s plants was built in 1950 and the other was built in 1980.

Fullingim reiterated the upgrades could be a few thousands or significantly more depending on the results of the survey.

“I don’t know what it’s gonna cost yet.”

With no remarks from council members or unscheduled public comment the meeting adjourned at 6:02 p.m.
