The Madill Wildcats boys’ basketball team hosted the Kingston Redskins on Tuesday, December 6, and Madill walked away with the win.

The Wildcats came out firing on all cylinders, taking an 8-2 lead halfway through the first quarter. After both teams traded multiple fouls, the Wildcats increased their lead to 16-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Ethan Wilkerson, #24 for the Wildcats, put on a basketball clinic with strong play on both ends of the floor. With Wilkerson leading the way, the Wildcats opened a 28-8 lead halfway through the second quarter. The Redskins were unable to cut into the Wildcats’ lead and went to the locker room at halftime trailing 35-12.

The Redskins tried to make a run opening the third quarter with a couple of baskets, but the Wildcats were still up halfway through the third at 39-16. By the end of the third, Madill had opened a 47-22 lead. The first points of the fourth quarter came on a Wildcats three-pointer with six minutes left in the game.

The Redskins were able to sink a couple of their own threepointers cutting the Wildcats’ lead to 50-28 at the halfway point of the fourth quarter. In the end, WilkersonandtheWildcatswere too much for the Redskins and Madill pulled off a victory with a final score of 61-37.
