Hope for Marshall County hosted a toy drive to assist children and families in need for Christmas.

The toy drive began at Atwoods from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., then moved to Dollar General from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

HFMC Executive Director Gwen Wilson said it was a good opportunity for children.

“Kids could come see Santa and tell him their wish list,” she said.

The children were able to hang out with some of their favorite characters; the Grinch, Gingy, a Minion and Elmo.

Wilson said both stores have collection boxes waiting to be filled with new toys, blankets, socks and other needed items until December 10.

Other donation box locations are at KMAD, Carri & Company, Lakeside Family Medicine, Kingston Pharmacy and Corner Drug.
