A Madill resident is facing charges for allegedly producing and promoting pornography of a child. The investigation began on May 5 when a complaint was filed alleging that Mendoza and a child under the age of 14 had interacted in a sexual manner online.

The complainant claimed the incident occurred on or around May 2. The child admitted to past contact with Mendoza, prompting the Hunt County, Texas Sheriff’s Office, and the Marshall County District’s Attorney’s Office. Mendoza was subsequently arrested and extradited to Hunt County, Texas to face his charges.

Royse City Police Department spokesman Darnell Franklin said in a press release that the department has some pretty damning evidence. According to Franklin, investigators discovered copies of photos and videos of the sexual communications between Mendoza and the victim.

Also, once presented with the evidence, it is alleged that Mendoza confessed.

The charge of Sexual Performance by a Child Under the Age of Fourteen, Employing, Directing or Promoting is a first degree felony. If convicted, Mendoza faces anywhere from five to ninety-nine years in prison.
