A local man was arrested after an altercation with a family member. On May 4, Marshall County Deputy Steve Beebee was dispatched to a residence in the Bridgeview community in reference to an assault.

When Beebee arrived on scene, the victim alleged that the suspect – later identified as Raphael Ramirez, a 28-year-old male from Madill – strangled and physically attacked her during an argument. Beebee then observed marks on the victim that were consistent with the allegations.

After taking the victim’s statement, Beebee approached Ramirez to interview him and get his side of the story. Ramirez confirmed the allegations that the victim said, and confessed to getting into a physical altercation with her.

Ramirez was then placed under arrest by Beebee, and transported to Marshall County Jail. The suspect was arraigned May 5, and had a bond set in the amount of $10,000.

He was arraigned on May 5, 2020 and his bond was set in the amount of $10,000.00. He is currently facing a charge of Domestic Assault and Battery by Strangulation. He is to have no contact with the victim. An online search only found traffic violations for Ramirez; he had no Oklahoma priors.
