Jacklyn “Jackie” Ferguson Burns

Jacklyn “Jackie” Ferguson Burns, 81, of Madill, Okla., passed away Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at her home in Madill. She was born on July 17, 1938 in Soper, Okla., to the late Audley Harrison Ferguson and Robbie Edith Legate Ferguson.

Jackie was raised in San Francisco, Calif., Hugo, Okla., and graduated from Madill High School. She married Kenneth Dempsey Burns on Dec. 21, 1957, in Ardmore, Okla. Jackie and Dempsey followed the oil field business throughout Utah, Colorado and Oklahoma. She received her cosmetology degree in 1974, then owned and operated Jackie Originals in Madill ever since.

Jackie was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church since 1972. She enjoyed her Sunday school class, gardening and reading her bible daily. Her greatest joy was taking her grandchildren camping and boating on Lake Texoma and most recent pastime was Facebooking and snapchat.

She is survived by her children: Jeannie Rogers and husband, Rick, Houston, Texas; Lori Watkins, Madill, Okla.; grandchildren: Stacy Sisson and husband, Brian; Rick Rogers Jr. and wife, Kristy; Breann Watkins, Jacklyn Weeks and husband, Justin; Mara Watkins, Lelah Watkins, Elizabeth Watkins, H. G. Watkins; great-grandchildren: Ryan Sisson, Zachary Rogers, Brayden Sisson, Landon Weeks and Farrah Weeks.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother; Jack Ferguson and sisters; Patty Rose and Bobbie Jean Stevens.

Visitation was Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Okla., from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Services were 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Okla. Greg Idell officiated the service. Interment was at the Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, Okla. Casket bearers were: Kowboy Martin, Carl “Chico” Gonzalez, Ed Fernandez, Rodney Caldwell, Bobby Lowery and Buddy Tynes. Honorary bearers were: Oakview Baptist Church Deacons.
