KMS Academic Team brings home wins

On Friday, April 3, several members of the Kingston Middle School Academic Team traveled to Rose State College to compete in the Oklahoma Association for Academic Competition Tournament of Champions, showcasing their hard work and academic excellence against top students from across the state.

“I’m incredibly proud of how our students performed,” said the team’s academic coach Stephanie Dohrer. “They’ve put in countless hours of preparation, and it really showed in their results. Competing at this level is no small feat, and they represented Kingston Middle School with excellence and determination.”

Several students earned individual honors in a variety of subject areas. Charlotte Armstrong placed 7th in Math, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills in a competitive field. Raylee Meidinger had an impressive showing, earning 7th place in Science and 10th place in Humanities/Fine Arts. Roman Hawkins also competed in Science, securing a 9th-place finish.

Wyatt Hampton delivered a standout performance across multiple categories, placing 6th in Language Arts, 6th in Current Events and 10th in Math, highlighting his well-rounded academic abilities. Dohrer also praised Ethan Austin, who also qualified for the prestigious event.

As a team, Kingston Middle School achieved notable success, taking 16 individual tests and having seven of them placing in the top 10 overall. The Tournament of Champions provided a valuable opportunity for students to challenge themselves and represent their school at a high level.
