TheTownofKingstonheld their 2nd annual Spring Fest and Market last Saturday from 9am to 2pm. Shoppers were high with spirit as was the wind. There were plenty of vendors on hand and the city was selling BBQ Sandwiches with chips and a drink, thanks to the help from Ronald Jackson and Kingston Fire Chief James Kuykendall. The Cargal sisters, Chole and Cassidy, from the Flower Basket in Madill were set up with a Flower Bar for shoppers to create their own flower bouquets. “Things are going good and people are loving it.”, Chloe said. The sisters said they had about 50 shoppers and their biggest seller was the roses and sunflowers as they were already sold out of the sunflowers; they said they would be at next year's event as things were going so well. Kayla Catiller who is a consultant for Thirty -One who was a first time vendor at the event said things were going well, “Things are going really well. We have a lot of people out here who are very talkative and say they are enjoying the event.” Catiller said that she attends at least three vendor events like this a year and will be back for next year’s event and will be at the boat show in June as well. Donna Bearden of The Kingston Place Making Committee said that in spite of the wind things were going well and the turnout was fantastic, “Despite the wind it is a beautiful day, we have had a wonderful turnout. We are excited about everything.” With about 30 vendors in attendance Bearden said she is confident that the upcoming events in May and June will be just as successful. “ Our biggest thing will be June 1st theLakeTexomaBoatShow, we have five new boat dealers confirmed and we think it is going to be bigger and better.” Bearden continued to say about the Spring Fest, “Despite the wind it is a beautiful day and we are really pleased with the turnout and all the kids have had a great time. I think the vendors are selling. I know our food vendors are doing really well.”
