The Town of Kingston’s annual lighting of the Christmas tree and parade was held last December 9 on Main Street. With streets blocked and lined with residents, the parade kicked off the town's celebration.

There were food trucks parked nearby to offer hot chocolate and hot food on the chilly night. Guests were able to enjoy parade floats from residents, local businesses, city departments and even Santa himself followed by the Pride of Texoma Marching Band. After the parade, everyone gathered at the town park for the lighting of the town’s Christmas Tree.

While waiting for Santa to arrive, kids were treated to ornament making with the help of volunteers and hot chocolate offered by local vendors. With assistance from local resident and State Representative Josh Cantrell, the Christmas Tree was lit up to cheers and awws. Cantrell said small-town parades is where its at.

“Small town parades where everyone gets out and comes together is a bonding moment for everyone in the community.” Cantrell said. “It's great to see the kids out here.”
