As the wrestling season kicks off after Christmas break, Madill High School recognizes Kaia Henry, a dedicated 12th grader who embodiesthespiritofcommunity and perseverance. Having lived in Madill her entire life, Henry has made lasting memories and friendships that she cherishes deeply.
Henry’s journey through high school has been marked by kindness and support. 'Every time I’m with my friends is my favorite school memory,' she shared.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Henry said she is passionate about wrestling. She fondly recalled the special moments spent practicing with her teammate, Maddie R.
Kaia expressed her gratitude to her coach.
'You worked hard, and I couldn’t be more proud to have you as my coach.'
Henry said she is also deeply appreciative of her family. Her parents, Shawna Henry and Aaron Dodd (stepfather), along with Michael Henry and Ashley Henry (stepmother), have been her unwavering support system. She acknowledged their impact in her life.
'You guys are my number one supporters, and I couldn’t ask anyone different to be that for me.'
Henry said that her inspiration comes from two remarkable figures in her life. She noted that her mother stands out as a role model, embodying strength and independence.
'She’s such a great role model,' Kaia explained, demonstrating the influence her mother has had on her personal growth.
In the realm of wrestling, Henry said she finds motivation in Bailey, a fellow wrestler who shares her journey through TikTok.
'She has so much love for the sport,' Kaia said.
