If you're out and about enjoying the new year and find yourself in Sherman, Texas, swing by and check out the fine folks at the Super Shack. It is the newest seafood restaurant to open in Grayson County. Family owned and operated, the first Super Shack opened in July 2017 in McKinney, Texas. It is owned by four brothers: Antonio, Juan, Pedro, and Ricardo Correa.
Before moving to Texas from California, all four brothers worked in tree service and construction. With constant financial struggles to sustain their big families, they were set with big dreams and a passion for a better future. They brought their families to the big and beautiful state of Texas, in search of a better future.
The youngest of the brothers, Antonio, had a passion for the kitchen which soon led him to become the head chef and general manager. He has brought forth the diverse menu and house recipes.
With hard work and perseverance, the brothers soon opened what is now known as Super Shack. Now open for almost five years, they offer a wonderful menu for families to dine with a variety of plates for seafood and non-seafood lovers They proudly serve fresh and local ingredients.
On my trip to the Super Shack, we started with some oysters, coated in cornmeal, and fried. We also had a creamy New Orleans style Clam Chowder, with fresh clams, and a bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo. Theroux was dark and full offlavor.
For the entree, we had a house boil medley. It was a Super Shack Platter with Snow Crab legs, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. You can choose your spice level, very succulent.
To finish of our wonderful meal, we had a heavenly slice of bread pudding with an ice cream topper. I can not wait togo back and try other menu items with so much many options.
I will leave you a bread pudding recipe till you can make it by the Super Shack.
