Theholidayseasonishere, and whether you’re doing your shopping, or having a girl’s night out on the town, stop by the Devil Egg Co. in Denison, Texas. I have been hearing about this mythical place that takes the ordinary devel egg and creates the not so ordinary.
A cute little store front off Main Street, with a spacious bar and cocktail area, with a very gastro pub feel to the place. It has a simple menu of a few appetizers and flat breads to choose from, and of course, the eggs.
The general manager said the reason for doing deviled eggsstemmedfromthesouth.
“Why not egg? Eggs are eggs, and Texans do salt, sugar, and fat very well, and with eggs everywhere,” she said. “So, I created an inventive way to showcase them.” My party and I sat down and started the meal with a hand-breaded goat cheese balls. They were deep fried and drizzled with a red pepper honey. These little morsels were so soft and creamy, and the sauce complimented the goat cheese so well.
The star of the show was the deviled eggs. We ordered four different ones to try out.
First, was the cheeseburger, and as you can imagine, it was everything a cheeseburger has to offer on a deviled egg. It was an amazing concept brought to life.
For our second round, we tried the Gyro, with lamb, cucumber, red onion, tzatziki sauceandfetacheese.Fansof Greek food will surely enjoy this treasure.
Our third egg was the smoked salmon. If you can imagine a lox and cheese bagel with the creamy goodness of the deviled egg then, you are one step closer to an amazing combination of this seafood delight. The final egg on our dinning tour de egg, was the Cali Roll. A spicy crab and eel sauce on a deep-fried deviled egg. I don’t know if I can ever eat sushi the same
