It’s a perfect opportunity for families to come together and celebrate the joy of reading while recognizing the impact of Dolly Parton’s remarkable work.

Founded by Parton in 1995, the Imagination Library aims to foster a love of reading among young children. The program provides free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, delivering a new book to their homes every month. This initiative is designed to inspire a passion for reading and to help develop essential literacy skills during a critical period of cognitive growth.

Parton’s vision was born from her personal experiences, recognizing the power that access to books can have in shaping a child’s future. Since its inception, the Imagination Library has grown exponentially, benefiting millions of children around the world and ensuring that all families, regardless of their financial situation, have the opportunity to nurture literacy in their homes.

Literacy is a vital skill that empowers individuals and strengthens communities. Early exposure to reading enhances language development, boosts cognitive skills and fosters creativity. Children who engage with books from a young age are more likely to excel academically and develop essential critical thinking skills.

TheMadillRotarybelieves in the importance of early literacy, which is why this event is so significant. Parents andcaregiversattending thepartywillhavethechance to apply for the Imagination Library program on-site, ensuring their children aged 0-5 can receive a free book every month.
