– The American Legion Charles B Burke Post 99 is proud to announce its annual Veterans Day event, scheduled for November11at11:00a.m.on the Madill Courthouse lawn. This year, the post is committed tohonoringthebravemen and women who have served our country with a meaningful day of remembrance and appreciation.
The day will kick off with a veteran's and family breakfast at the Madill Church of Christ fellowship hall, starting at 9:00 a.m. This gathering will provide an opportunity for community members to come together, share stories and express gratitude for the sacrifices made by our veterans.
Following the breakfast, attendees are invited to join in a solemn ceremony at Memorial Square at 11:00 a.m. This event will feature speeches from local leaders, patrioticmusicandamoment of silence to honor those who have served. The ceremony is designed to instill a sense of pride and remembrance, reminding usallofthevalorand commitment of our armed forces.
'We encourage everyone in Madill and surrounding areas to join us in this special occasion,' said a representative from the American Legion. 'It’s important to recognize our veterans not just on Veterans Day, but every day. Their sacrifices have paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy.'
