Every year, Hope for Marshall County holds an event to collect Christmas items for communitymembersinneed. This year, HFMC held the annual Fill the Sleigh event on November 2 at the Madill Community Center.
The event hosted 67 vendors with a beautiful array of unique handmade items. There were delicious canned food items of all types.
RoosterCreekbakeryfrom Kingston was filling the room with enticing smells of baked breads and disserts. Merry Meadows goat farm was set up with lots of handmade soaps and so much more all fresh from their farm.
Christmasdecor,3Dprinted toys and trinkets, gorgeous wreaths, beautifully crocheted items of all kinds, plants for sale, hats, clothes, books, artwork and much more were on display. All of these items were from local and non-local small business vendors that drove up from surroundingareastobeapart of this event for the children of Marshall County.
TheAmericanLegionPost #99 Veterans were also present for this event to inform other veterans of this area that they are not alone, that they are important and are appreciated. The Legion invites all Veterans and their families to enjoy a full hot breakfast for free on November 11th at The Church of Christ in Madill at 9 a.m.
Andy Gorrell with AFW Photos was there providing free professional photos with Santa Clause. Santa definitely was looking his best for the kiddos. There was nothing but ear-to-ear smiles on the children’s faces as the holiday seasons excitement filled them up and they made their gift requests.
There were more than five food trucks located outside to keep the crowd stirring and their bellies full while they toured through all the wonderful goodies.
The Madill Police Department, Madill Fire Department, EMS, and Marshall County Sheriff's Department were all in attendance. The MPD and MFD competed in a costume dance off between DevinMcLaughlinasSparky theFireDogandCodyPatton as Chase the police pup. With MPDPoliceChiefDonnyRailey as the DJ, the revelry had the crowd full of laughter and enjoyment. There is nothing like a celebration with good people coming together for a great cause and sharing in lots of belly laughs.
