Brandon Twito, a 39-yearold male from Sanger, Texas and a former Tight End for the Jacksonville Jaguars was arrested following a traffic stop on January 12, 2021. At approximately 4:08 a.m., Kingston Police Officer Shelby Boyd was driving west on Highway 70 when she observed a truck driving toward her at a high rate of speed.

After Boyd locked onto the truck’s speed and noted it was travelling 71 miles per hour, she flipped around behind it and activated her emergency lights. Once she initiated the traffic stop, a white male, later identified as Twito, pulled over in the CTS parking lot. Boyd approached the ve

Boyd approached the vehicle and requested Twito’s driver’s license, at which time, Twito informed Boyd that he did not have his license on his person. Boyd then asked for Twito’s other identifying information, such as his name and birthdate.

Boyd called in Twito’s information to dispatch and learned he had active warrants from Fannin County, Texas – Attempting to Tamper with Evidence, Possession of CDS, Resisting an Executive Officer and Larceny of an Automobile. The law agency requested that Marshall County place a hold on the suspect.

Boyd then requested Marshall County Dispatch to send another officer to her location for assistance. Boyd informed Twito that he was under arrest and she placed him in her unit without any complications.

After Boyd placed Twito in her unit, and Marshall County Deputy Steve King arrived on scene, she began to search the suspect’s vehicle. As soon as she opened the door, she found a yellow plastic bag with a half of a pill placed in it.

While searching the rest of the vehicle, Boyd found a clear container with a black tar like substance, a blue bag with a crystal-like substance, multi-colored gummy bears, and four syringes.

As if the charges for Possession from Marshall County and the active warrants from Fannin County were not enough to deal with, Boyd found out more information after she booked Twito into the Marshall County Jail.

Turns out, the truck that Twito was driving when Boyd initiated the traffic stop was also stolen. Twito is currently booked in the Marshall County Jail for Possession of CDS, and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

An online search found priors for Attempting to Tamper with Evidence, Resisting, Driving Under Suspension, Driving Under the Influence, Theft, Forgery and multiple convictions for Possession of CDS.

Twito, a Texoma native, was recruited out of Collin County Community College by Pittsburg State University. He graduated from PSU and was a rookie free agent for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Unfortunately, Twito was not on the team long enough to make a name for himself, because approximately two months after signing on to the team, Twito was waived and sent packing.

When a player is waived, it means that a non-vested player (a player with less than four years under their belt) is released. This typically means another team can scoop up the newly released player if they so desire.

That would not be the case for Twito. He was not picked up by another professional team.
