Forbes Names Top 10 Employers in Oklahoma for 2025

Forbes, in conjunction with Statista, released its annual list of America’s Best-In-State Employers, recognizing outstanding workplaces in each state based on surveys of more than 160,000 employees. In Oklahoma, employers were evaluated on work culture, compensation, advancement opportunitiesandmore.Here are the Top 10 in the Sooner State.

IBMIBM claims the number one position in Oklahoma. Though headquartered in Armonk, NY, IBM has operations in Oklahoma and gets high praise for its employee satisfaction and company practices.

Costco Wholesale Ranked No. 2, Costco is known for its high employee retention, competitive benefits and promoting from within. It also ranks highly in many other states in the Forbes study.

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma A major employer in the state, this tribal government services entity ranks third. It provides a broad range of services to tribal citizens and demonstrates strong workplace practices.

MidFirst Bank Based in Oklahoma City, MidFirst is a homegrown financial institution. It ranks No. 4 among employers in Oklahoma for 2025, reflecting strong employee satisfaction, communityengagement and local economic impact.

Chickasaw Nation Department of Commerce Rounding out the top five is the Chickasaw Nation’s commerce arm. It includes many enterprises, recently launching the OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark in Oklahoma City projected to employ around 800 people.

University of Oklahoma The state’s flagship public university is No. 6. In addition to its educational mission, the university is noted for its efforts in employee benefits, career growth and work environment.

Tyson Foods A major food processing and agricultural company, Tyson Foods holds the No. 8 spot overall, but appears in the Oklahoma Top 10 as well (depending on how national / state ranking intersects); its operations in Oklahoma are large and important in the local economy.

Saint Francis Health System Based in Tulsa, Saint Francis is the No. 9 ranked employer in Oklahoma. It is recognized for high quality of health care services, employee welfare and community presence.

AT&T Rounding out the list is AT&T, a large telecommunications company,rankingNo. 10 in Oklahoma. Employees cite its benefits, scale and stability among positives.

The Forbes & Statista ranking is based on feedback from employees of companies with at least 500 workers. Participants were asked how likelytheywouldbetorecommend their employer, and evaluated on, working conditions, salary fairness, opportunities for advancement, culture and how leadership handles serious matters (e.g. workplace harassment) and comparisons with other companies in the same industry or known through personal networks.
