An Oklahoma man is back behind bars just a few weeks after being released from prison. Lawrence Anderson, a 42-year-old male from Chickasha was arrested stemming from a triple murder on February 9, 2021.
According to officials, Anderson confessed to killing his neighbor then cutting her heart out. He then proceeded to cook the heart with potatoes and attempted to feed to his family to “release the demons.”
Anderson was not done with his gruesome crime spree because according to law officials, he took the eerie dish to a residence in the 200 block of West Minnesota in Chickasha and attemptedto feed it to his family.
Reports also noted that Anderson attacked his family and killed his uncle, Leon Pye, 67 and his niece Kaeos Yates, age 4. He also allegedly attacked his aunt, Delci Pye, but she survived.
Details surrounding Anderson are already a hot topic for residents. Anderson was released from prison in January serving only three years of a 20-year sentence for Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Bringing Contraband into a Penal Institution, Molesting a Motor Vehicle and Possession of CDS – Methamphetamines. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt commuted Anderson’s sentence to nine years and he paroled out in only three.
Grady County District Attorney Jason Hicks said this is an ongoing issue.
“This has to be addressed by the Legislature, sooner rather than later, because more people are going to get killed,” Hicks said in a press conference. “We’re seeing this all over the state. Repeat offenders go to prison. They’re not there very long. And they come home and they’re committing crimes just like this.”
Hicks noted that when Anderson was initially convicted that the convict should serve the entire sentence. Hicks is questioning why parole was even an option for the repeat offender.
Records show that Anderson first went to prison in Oklahoma for attacking his girlfriend, pointing a gun at her and being in Possession of CDS with the Intent to Distribute. Even though he was sentence to four years, he only served two.
In 2012, he was sentenced 15 years in jail and 20 years of probation for four counts of Distribution of CDS. He only served five of the 15 years when he was released in 2017 and went back to prison just six months later for the 20-year sentence that was commuted down to nine.
