The First United Methodist Church of Madill will be hold a special “Drive-thru Communion” service this Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in lieu of the traditional worship service for Maundy Thursday.

Marshall County residents are invited to join church members in this observance of the traditional Holy Week communion service, being offered in a very different format this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Participants can “drive through” the church property located at 301 W. Taliaferro, at the back of the church from 3rd Street to 4th Street and be served the communion elements in sealed individual servings. Pastors Steve and Wanda Littrell will be offering an Easter blessing and distributing the sacraments to occupants in their cars as they drive through the church property.

The United Methodist Church practices open communion, meaning that everyone is welcome to participate regardless of church or denominational affiliation.

Every care will be taken to observe the Covid-19 safety measures and social distancing guidelines.
