Chamber hosts ribbon cutting for Lighthouse

No need to charter a ship to find the Lighthouse in Madill. When the world inside becomes too dark to know what direction to go, just look for the Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Center. There, clients will find the Certified Community Behavioral HealthCenter(CCBHC) of Marshall County.

ThenewlocationforLighthouse Behavioral Wellness Center, located at 603 N. 1st Street officially opened its doors to the public. The new larger clinic held a ribbon cutting and grand opening on ThursdayAug.15.Thegrand opening event was followed by a tour of the facility that was open to the public.

Thenewlocationhasmore to offer clients with a larger, more easily accessible parking area and interior spaces. The upgraded amenities will help improve quality of care, overall.

The new location offers an in-house pharmacy and lab, group meeting spaces and more councilors. They added spaces for Telehealth appointments to better accommodate its clients depending on their specific needs.

Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers is a nonprofit organization. It serves anyone in the community requesting care for mental health and substance use. They offer services to the members of the community regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence or age, offering its clients a setting designedtofostercompassion on their journey to healing.

As a CCBHC, Lighthouse Wellness provides access to a range of comprehensive behavioral health services. These services include, outpatient counseling, care coordination, addiction treatment, and 24/7 crisis services. Jessica Pfau, Lighthouse CEO, said the new location will allow them to accommodate thecommunitymore. “We have served the Madill community for years, and this larger facility will allow us to provide an elevated level of care,” Pfau said. “Investing in Madill through this new clinic expresses our commitment to serving our clients, supporting them with hope, support, and compassion along their journey of healing.”

The outreach from Lighthouse is reaching out even further than just Marshall County, offering clients with travel restrictions access to care. Lighthouse provides clients with a two-button iPad that has a built-in hotspot, referred to as the Mycare ipad.

The first button allows access for routine scheduled appointments at the clinic if they cannot be present. The second button is for access to the 24/7 crisis center. Pfau said the iPad and instant access is crucial for some clients..

“Providing clients with this direct access to our staff and crisis services is vital. We truly see great success with them. They are so helpful to keep our clients out of crisis. Our mission is truly to help the community,” Pfau said.

Lighthouse has three core values for clients and staff alike - hope, dedication, and community; to do what is right and not give up.

Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers are located inninecountiesacrossSouthern Oklahoma. The crisis iPads can be found at some hospitals, police and sheriff stations, as well as some libraries and schools. Clients are able to access the help they need around the clock.
