I hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving Holiday! I know I’ve surely gained 5 lbs. and still have left overs to finish up!

I have been given notice that Bingo scheduled for December 7th at the Buncombe Creek CC has been cancelled but will continue back on Saturday, December 21st. The minigames begin at 6:30 with regular Bingo starting at 7:30. Please bring your special treats and good cheer and plan to win some money. Hope to see you there!

The Buncombe Babe’s Red Hat Group will be enjoying their monthly luncheon at the Cracker Barrel in Sherman on Friday, December 6th at 11:00am. Call Cheryl at 564-7102 if you would like to share in our shenanigans and enjoy visiting with the ladies!

Fun was had by all who attended the annual Christmas Lighting and Bon Fire at the Buncombe Creek Marina! Karen and Tom provided the Hot Dogs with all the condiments and Lynn Smith provided the Chili! I have to thank my husband

Jack Ehmann for all the work he has done setting up the lighting and making sure everything works, etc..!! Also we want to thank the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. for their attendance to make sure there were no mishaps with the fire. Let’s help make this a festive and memorable event each year! Thank you to the ones who put their own lights up!

I’m sure everyone is ready for the monthly Shay Community Center potluck which will be held on Thursday, December 12th at 6:30! Please bring Finger Food or dessert and a $10.00 male/female gift to exchange, if you would like. This should be lots of fun!

I want to highlight the diligence of a select few of the ladies from the Shay and Buncombe Creek Community Centers who have spent many hours quilting up to 75 quilts which are to be delivered to the VA in Ardmore as well as our local sheriff’s office! A special “Thank you” to Kim Gentry and Phyllis Cox for your continued efforts with this, as well as Tammy Smith and Sherrie Orr for helping! It was the material donated by Barbra Reboldt that made this possible! They will be distributed on December 10th! Have a safe week!
