Aseriesofbadstormshave plagued the Texoma area in recent weeks. Many people have experienced damage to their homes and businesses due to the storms.
A storm on May 19 damaged the Roosevelt Bridge that crosses on US 70 between Mead and Kingston. ODOT posted on Facebook and other social media platforms to inform drivers about the closure and to suggest alternate routes.
'All lanes of east and westbound US-70/Roosevelt Bridge are closed between State Park Rd. and Williow Springs Rd., over Lake Texoma between Kingston and Mead, due to storm damage,' the posted stated.
'Drivers headed eastbound will need to use US70 to SH-199 to SH-78 as a detour or locate an alternate route. Drivers headed westbound will need to use SH-78 to SH-199 to US-70 or locate an alternate route.'
ODOT also stated that there is no time frame for the bridge to be reopened and accessible.
