Juanita Clement retired from the Oakland Grocery on June 2. Clement has worked for Oakland Grocery for over 33 years.

She started in 1990 as a cook on the night shift. Over the years, she worked her way up to the daytime cashier. That is the position most people in the community have seen her performing.

Employeesofthestoreand community members took to Facebook to send Clement well wishes and let her know just how much she means to them.

'Juanita is an absolute gem,' employees of the store posted on the store's Facebook page. 'She has brought us and our customers many laughs and happy memories over the years. We are very sad to see her go, but also overjoyed knowing that she will get to relax and enjoy her life to [the] fullest. '

One community member recalled how she has been a part of her life as long as they can remember.

'She definitely is a gem,' Savanna Martin posted. 'Every since I was 5-6 years old I have known her and she’s been nothing but great my whole life just about to me.'

Other residents congratulated her on her retirement and wished her well.
