Wildcats suffer losses to Byng

Boys v Byng

The Madill Wildcats fell short in their clash with Byng 35-28 on February 9. Madill had some trouble scoring and put up 28 points against a solidByngsquad.ThePirates avenged a one-point loss 39-38 to Madill in their lowscoring January matchup.

Ethan Wilkerson did most of the damage for the Wildcats, scoring 18 of the team’s 28pointsandpullingdown11 rebounds in the losing effort. Fellow senior, Greg Padgett added seven points and six rebounds to the cause.

The Wildcats now sit at 203, and 11-1 in Lake Country play, holding on to 1st in the district. Madill now will face Dickson at home on Senior Night this week before moving on to the playoffs. The Wildcats defeated Dickson 68-38 back in January and look to repeat that success and move on to the playoffs with some momentum.

Girls v Byng

The Madill Lady Wildcats dropped their regular season finale against Byng 36-18 on February 9. Madill struggled offensivelyandonlymanaged 18 points for the game. Byng continued to have Madill’s number, defeating the Lady Wildcats for the second time in a month. Byng won the January matchup 52-32 at Madill.

The Lady Wildcats finished the regular season 1211, and 6-7 in Lake Country play in 4th place. This would not be the end of the road for Madill, as they made the playoffs and will face Dickson on February 17. The Lady WildcatstoppedDicksonback in January 54-23 and look to beat them again to advance in the playoffs.
