As the graduation of the Class of 2024 approaches, it's time to highlight some notable seniors, and among them is Ryan James Meek. He is the son of Gayle and J.R. Meek and a proud member of the Redskins' football team for all four years of his high school journey. He has attended Kingston from Pre-K to 12th grade.

Duringhisfreetime,Meek likes fishing, hanging with his friends, or working at Super C. Meek’s favorite class is Ms. Williams' Spanish class and said his most memorable incident is from 8th grade when Wyatt Thomas fell into 'The Pit.' Meek said his biggest fan is his mom. His favorite Kingston athlete thatheenjoyedwatchingwas Jesse Rose.

Although he is involved in various classes and activities, Meek’s heart lies in football. He began playing his freshmen year. His favorite part is the thrill of Friday night lights. For four years, Meek hasworkedextremelyhardat practice and has put in extra work during the off season. Sports taught Meek how to pay attention to detail, how to work, how to strive, and how to succeed. His work paid off. He was named All-District Honorable Mention for the D-line. He credited his mindset to his years in football, teaching him that if somebody wants something, they have to work for it.

Meek said he is most proud of his team for being named District Champions. Meek’s positions were the D-Line and O-Line. He said he believes that practice is harder than the games, and he thanked Coach Smiley for being a good coach and making every practice a good time despite the difficulty. Meek said he wants his teammates to know that he loves them and will always want the best for them.
