KenzieMathis,an18-yearold student, has been a part of the Madill community since Pre-K and is currently a senior in high school. She comes from a loving family, withparentsMikeandChristie, and two brothers named Jared and Conner Mathis.

Mathis said she actively participates in both basketball and track and field, showcasing her athletic talents. However, she has faced challenges over the years, particularly with injuries and finding her confidence. Despite these obstacles, Mathis remained resilient and determined to overcome them.

She said one of her favorite memoriesisattendingasummer basketball camp in Broken Bow.Itwasamemorable experience that allowed her to further develop her skills and passion for the sport. Mathis said she finds inspiration from all her coaches, as each one has played a unique role in motivating and guiding her along her athletic journey. She expressed her gratitude to them for their unwavering belief in her, even during challenging times. Mathis credited her coaches for providing countless opportunities that have helped her cultivate her love for basketball and track and field.

Above all, Mathis said h er parents serve as her greatest source of inspiration in life. She expressed her heartfelt appreciation to them for their continuous support and presence throughout her journey. Their love and encouragement have shaped her into the person she is today.

Looking ahead to the future, Mathis said she plans to attend Murray State College to pursue an associate degree. Afterward, she aspires to further her education at either East Central or Southeastern, majoring in Business or Education.

To her younger classmates, Mathis offered words ofadviceandencouragement. She said she encourages them to cherish every moment and enjoy their time in school, as time passes by quickly. Furthermore, she urges them to persevere through adversity and never stop growing as individuals.

In summary, Mathis is a determined and talented student- athlete who has made significant contributions to the Madill community. Despite facing challenges, she remains grateful for the support of her coaches, her loving family, and the opportunities she has received.
