The months are passing so quickly. March is upon us already and we are ready for a warm spring bringing us into a warm, sultry summer. Wetryto staypositive anyway.
The Buncombe Babes Red Hat group will be meeting in Sherman at The Golden Corral for their monthly luncheon on Friday, March 4 at lla.m. They always have a good time.
Be sure to mark your ca lendar for Saturday, March 19, 2022, when the seventh annual "Burning of the Socks" and "Swap to your Flip Flops" event comes to the Buncombe Creek Marina parking lot. The venue this year will be better than ever with live music, carnival games, dunk tank and wiener roast to name a few. The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with the Chili Cookoffleading the way, followed by activities nearby, bouncy house and a dunk tank.
The Polar Plunge is a must see starting around 1:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed, along with items for the raffle table. Please stop by the marina store. The proceeds will help benefit the BCVFD, the yearly fireworks display as well as the Lake Texoma Assoc. Be sure to h elp support this venture by attending.
The Appreciation Dinner at the Shay Community Center will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. and all are welcome. This dinner is a way to meet your neighbors and join the center if you wish for a mere $7.50 a year. I hope to see you there. Have a safe week.
