Hello Buncombe Creek. Everyone is still trying to scramble to get some normalcy back after the tornado. Neighbors are helping neighbors as structures are being cleared up or patched up or moved out. Good days are surely ahead of us now, I hope.
With Cinco de Mayo on Thursday, May 5, most will be celebrating this wellknown holiday with Mexican food fare. It is the celebration of the Mexican victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla.
The “Buncombe Strong Benefit” for the area will be held on April 30 at 11:00 a.m. and will run most of the day. It is a free event, so please come on out to help support the families who have suffered in the area.
It will be held at the Buncombe Creek Marina and will include Bar-B-Que, fish fry, a Corn-Hole tournament, silent and live auctions, as well as bouncy house for the kids and bands playing music all day. Monetary donations are always welcome. Be safe and have a good week.
