Well, I haven't had much news for the past few weeks, but I think we all enjoyed this beautiful unseasonably warm weather. February is upon us already so hopefu lly t his won't prompt Father Winter to give us one last icy blast.
I h eard mention that the "Burning of the Socks" event will be coming up on Saturday, March 19 between 10:00 a .m . and 6:00 p.m. This event is an annual festival that brings our residents in to celebrate "burn your socks and switch to flip flops" as a hopeful entry into spring.
This is a fundraiser to help with the tourism efforts of The Lake Texoma Assn. as well as sponsor our local fire dept. and firework efforts. This event boasts a free wiener roast and fun for everyone. There is always the Chili Cook-Of-it-hat will be judged at 11:00 a.m. as well as the infamous Polar Plunge event which usually starts around 1:00 p.m . More information to follow
The Buncombe Babe's Red Hat group will be meeting for their monthly lunch eon at LaGrande Restaurant on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Have fun ladies.
