The “Buncombe Strong” event held on Saturday; April 30 was a huge success. Over 100 folks showed up to participate in the fundraiser that was held at the Buncombe Creek Marina to aid the victims who suffered in the March 21 tornado that tore through the area.
The event was put together by just a handful of people who worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly for the benefit of those affected. We had many generous donations for the live and silent auctions.
I know it’s early, but a reminder to everyone to plan on participating in our own Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Department’s 13th Annual Golf Tournament that will be held on Saturday, June 11, at the Buncombe Creek Golf Course in Willis, Okla. More information will follow in the weeks to come.
The Shay Community Center will be hosting their monthly potluck on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and come and join in the fellowship.
The Kingston schools last day is May 19, so beware, small children at play.
Happy Mother’s Day on May 8 to all the mother’s out there as we honor them for all the countless hours they gave to see us grow into healthy, active adults. Talk to you next week.
