I hope you all had a good week and a Happy Easter. The weather was pleasant, with a nice 70 degrees for the most part.

It’s official, Tom and Karen Wootton have finally let go of the Buncombe Creek Marinathattheyhaveowned and operated for the past 35 years. The new owners will be taking ownership in June.

We wish them the best and know they will keep the marina and all its holdings running smoothly for everyone to enjoy. A big welcome to the Anderson family.

Jurassic Park has been getting a face lift with the prescribed burns that have been going on there for the past month or so. With the weeds and downed timber burned away, blades of new grass are beginning to show. Also, in the weeks ahead, loads of gravel will be hauled down there to better accommodate the roads, which are in dire need of filling as the potholes are becoming quite a nuisance.

The “Open Arms Clothes Closet” will again open their doors at Baldwin’s storage locker #94 on Saturday, April 15 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come by and see if there is something you need or want for your wardrobe.

On April 18, the Buncombe Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. will be hosting their monthly meeting at the fire station. It starts at 7 p.m. and everyone is welcome!

Don’t forget to attend the Shay Community Center Potluck on April 13 at 6 p.m. Bring your favorite dish and enjoy the fellowship. Have a safe week.
