Our founding fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights: the Right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. Every person, born or unborn, is entitled to these God-given rights.

From the moment of conception, each child is worthy of life and protection from harm.

In the 117th Congress with a Democratic majority and a Democratic president, long-standing prolife protections are under attack. No matter what, I will continue to fight to safeguard the rights of the unborn.

We must start by working to defund the merciless Planned Parenthood. I have cosponsored H.R. 188, the Women’s Public Health and Safety Act, which gives states the freedom to defund Planned Parenthood through Medicaid and H.R. 243, the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, which prohibits the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from awarding family planning grants to entities that either perform abortions or fund abortions elsewhere. Additionally, I support the Defund Planned Parenthood Act, which prohibits Planned Parenthood from accessing any federal funds and authorizes $235 million to be reallocated to the thousands of comprehensive community health centers which do not perform abortions.

We must also continue to ensure taxpayer dollars are never used to fund abortions. Since 1976, the Hyde Amendment has prohibited any taxpayer funds to go towards abortions. There has long been bipartisan support for the Hyde Amendment, including every Democratic president since President Jimmy Carter, and now the radical Left is trying to eliminate it. I recently signed a letter with 199 of my colleagues asking congressional leadership to maintain the Hyde Amendment and other prolife safeguards in any government funding bill.

As a father of six, I cannot express enough how precious the lives ofinnocent children are. This is a fight worth fighting because as Americans, we have the moral, ethical, and personal responsibility to be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.
