Letter to the Editor: Disappointed in EMS board members behavior

Its a shame that this board can’t be supportive, and help guide this EMS Department, and Director like a board is ment for.... they are doing everything they can to run off all the employees..... People that are constantly being intimidated, harassed, and Darren acting like a dictator.

You are suppose to represent the people in our county, and besides for a few, our citizens are appalled at their behavior. All that I got out of the meetings that I sat through was condescending remarks, and needless micro managing.

As a sitting member of the City Council of Madill, we do all we can to bring in business, and create jobs, it makes our community stronger for the future, and as we grow we need a strong first response team our elderly citizens depend on them.... we do not want these jobs going to another county, or for another county to dictate to us what we need or should be doing, especially when they aren’t even on our level. We have a more than competent staff.....I applaud our EMS staff and Dash for the jobs they do.

I think at this point the Commissioners should get rid of all the board members and get some people on there that knows how to read a budget and understands how to work with employees.

Adults that don’t act like children when they are challenged and corrected.

I find it almost comical that this board is being so critical of the job of its employees, when they can not get through one meeting correctly without committing multiple violations. They should have had some classes they could attend to teach them how to be a proper board member, and if they have had these classes they obviously weren’t paying attention.
